Chucky Mendoza and the Curse of the Pharaoh is very lovely and charming old school platformer game inspired by 80’s 8-Bit retro games on classic computers like the C64. Run across screen, jump over obstacles, collect treasures throughout a cursed pyramid, avoid tripmines, lava pits and various deadly enemies (including bats, mummies, bugs, cobras) along the way.
For people who remember the AMIGA game »Rick Dangerous«, this game was definitely no inspiration. I hated »Rick Dangerous«! It’s more a tribute to C64 games like Spelunker, H.E.R.O., Pitfall II and Pharaoh’s Curse.
Really retro gaming:
– no save points
– no tutorial
– no extras
– only three lives
– no damn time limit
– no achievement (beside winning the game)
– no multiplayer
and — damn — only one difficulty: »retro hard«
So make the best out of it and play like gamer played in 1983!
